FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state of body and mind in which you feel peace and calm. You enter some form of Hypnosis several times a day. You go through natural, altered states before you fall asleep, and as you come into wakefulness. You may often go into Hypnosis when you are driving on the freeway and miss an exit because you haven't been paying attention. Perhaps you've gotten lost in a movie or a daydream.
How can Hypnosis help me?
Most people just plod along day after day, realizing only a small percentage of their potential. They expect luck or some other heavenly power can transform their lives. They soon reach that age of disillusionment and look around them. Life seems to have passed them by and they wonder why and how they missed the boat. What they don't realize is the Divine power to change is there, inside them, just waiting to be their obedient servant, capable of giving them every thing they wish for. Hypnosis is a powerful tool that can help you let go of limiting beliefs.
In Hypnosis (or Self-Hypnosis) you visualize in your subconscious mind the ideas of the things you want to experience in your life. It all happens through repeat impressions. Thus, by choosing the thoughts you think, working with affirmations, using Hypnosis recordings, hanging out with people who have accomplished what you want to accomplish, making treasure maps and surrounding yourself with things that help you to keep your mind focused on your desired outcome--you act "as if" the change were already a part of your life now. (Again, it's like the movie, "The Secret")
It's your conscious mind that's holding you back. You are the only person responsible for your life. In hypnosis you give yourself permission to let go of the past and embrace your power to create the life you'd enjoy living now.
How does it work?
Hypnosis is a state given us for self-improvement. Sadly, we seldom use it. In Hypnosis, the conscious mind becomes less critical, allowing the subconscious mind to accept positive suggestions more readily. Hypnosis can be used for many things, including changing bad habits or conditions like drinking & drugs, fear of exams, smoking, weight gain, stress, anxiety, insomnia, poor self-confidence, and even pain. What are the Myths behind Hypnosis?
There are several common myths regarding Hypnosis. Let's clear up any misconceptions you may have.
Myth #1: "It must be like those shows."
Reality: Most depictions of Hypnosis in shows and movies are exaggerated fantasies. People don't do anything under Hypnosis that they wouldn't do ordinarily. You are always in control and can choose to accept or reject any suggestions given by the Hypnotist.
Myth #2: "You cannot Hypnotize me because I am too smart or I am too strong-willed."
Reality: Having an above-average level of intelligence actually makes you a better subject. Those with low IQ's do not respond as well to Hypnosis as those who have average or above-average IQ's. Also, having strong will power is an attribute to being a good hypnotic subject because it allows you to concentrate and focus on the suggestions. The most important quality to being a good Hypnosis subject is the willingness to permit yourself to be hypnotized.
Myth #3: "I'm afraid I'd tell all my secrets."
Reality: You will not reveal any personal information while hypnotized that you would not reveal in your normal waking state. You also will not say or do anything while hypnotized that is inconsistent with your moral code.
Myth #4: "I'm afraid I'd have total amnesia."
Reality: Most people are aware of everything being said while they are hypnotized and remember everything after the session. A small percentage of people have total amnesia and some report partial amnesia, but most people remember everything. The important thing to remember is that everyone responds differently, and however you respond is natural and normal for you.
Myth #5: "I'm afraid I'll stay hypnotized."
Reality: While some people wonder what will happen if they don't come out of Hypnosis and get stuck, there is nothing to worry about at all. In the 2,000 years that Hypnosis has been used and studied, there is not a single documented case of this ever happening. It cannot happen and it will not happen. If a Hypnotist were to hypnotize you and then suddenly drop dead, you would come back to normal waking consciousness on your own in just a few minutes.
Why do you say that all Hypnosis is SELF Hypnosis?
We create our own reality by what we tell ourselves. We hypnotize ourselves every day. Be your own cheerleader or coach by using affirmations. Affirmations are powerful statements you say to yourself. They are always positive and lift your spirits, (as opposed to negative self-talk which damages the very fiber of your soul.)
Think about using affirmations as a way to bolster your self-esteem and encourage yourself. Your inner-voice is constantly chattering. Why not change that self-conversation into supportive dialogue? By making reassuring declarations you boost your confidence and verify your goodness as a capable and worthy person.

If you think you CAN"T, you're also right!"
~Henry Ford~
Here are some Self-Hypnosis Affirmations for everyone for Self-Confidence and achieving goals, taken from Dr. Jean Krueger's most popular Self Hypnosis recording on Confidence)
. I am awesome!
. I love myself.
. I love how I feel when I love myself.
. I alone am responsible for my life.
. If it is to be, it's up to me.
. I enjoy working on myself.
. I have specific and measurable goals.
. To reach my goals, I know how I would like to see myself--and what will be different.
. My goals are positive, within my control and a good fit with my life.
. My goals ignite my passion.
. I visualize my goals every day.
. I visualize my goals as complete as easily achieved--now!
Affirmations DO work and are a large part of your Self Hypnosis. Try looking at yourself in your mirror several times each day and repeating at least a dozen encouraging thoughts, preferably out loud. Pump yourself up. Write down your favorites and scatter them around your home. Post them on your mirrors and refrigerator. Put them on note cards and carry them in your purse or briefcase. Say them aloud as needed through out the day. Love yourself enough to try this powerful technique. It will bolster your ego and strengthen your resolve to reach your dreams. HOW CAN I DO SELF HYPNOSIS?
Here is a Self Hypnosis exercise which I teach to clients who want to lose weight, however, you can substitute any 3 affirmations instead.
SELF HYPNOSIS EXERCISE FOR RELEASING WEIGHT:
Do this exercise every one to two hours. It only takes a half a minute. Here’s how to do it if you have privacy:
1. Roll your eyes up and close your eyes.
2. Take a deep breath in and slowly exhale.
3. Relax your eyelids and all the tiny muscles around your eyes enough to create eye catalepsy.
4. Imagine your body is floating and weightless.
5. Let one hand float up like a balloon.
6. Concentrate on these 3 critical points and say them aloud, if possible:
. For my body, overeating is a fatal poison
. I need a healthy body to live the life I want to live.
. I owe my trusting innocent body this respect and protection.
Make a fist of commitment, recalling and anchoring to another time when commitment brought you success. Open your fist slowly and concentrate on a tingling sensation spreading throughout and empowering your entire body. Open your eyes slowly and go back to whatever you were doing.
You can also cover or mask this exercise if you are not able to find seclusion by bringing your hand to your brow as though you are thinking or are tired. Say the affirmations to yourself, rather than aloud.
Look upon food as fuel. You want to put only good fuel into your body and only enough fuel to run your body efficiently. So ask yourself, “Is this food good fuel which is respecting my body?” Your body is a trusting, living, innocent creature and depends on your judgment. Always eat with respect for your body, because if you respect your body you are never going to regard it as a garbage can. Know also that hunger can be a metaphor and you may be hungering for something far beyond food.
